Is there any relationship between adolescences's perception of their parents' parenting style and their psychosocial develoment? A survey on 350 Malaysian adolescenes reports that there is a relationsip between the two variables. Those who are positive about their parents' parenting styles demonstrate positive attitude towards learning; their greds are high and their records of diciplinary problems are low. On the otherhand those who do not think highly of their parents are also negative about learnig; their greds are low and their recocrds of diciplanry problems are high. The paper concludes that there are effective and ineffective parenting.
